Bauchi State governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed; speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Suleiman and a former governor of the state, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar (SAN) have expressed deep sorrow over the death of Alhaji Ibrahim Idris Shall, former managing director of the Bauchi State Television Authority (BATV), who passed away yesterday during a brief illness.
In a condolence message issued through his special adviser on media and publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, Governor Bala described the late Ibrahim Idris Shall as a seasoned broadcaster, accomplished media administrator, and one of the finest television professionals produced by Bauchi State.
The Governor said the deceased’s death was a great loss not only to his family but also to the media profession and the people of Bauchi State.
He noted that throughout his distinguished career, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris Shall demonstrated exceptional professionalism, dedication, and commitment to the growth and development of the media industry. Rising through the ranks from reporter to news editor, director of News and Current Affairs, and eventually managing director of BATV, he left behind a legacy of excellence, integrity, and hard work.
Governor Bala also recalled the invaluable contributions of the deceased during his tenure as Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Bauchi State Council, where he worked tirelessly to advance journalists’ welfare and strengthen responsible journalism in the state.
On behalf of his family, the Government of Bauchi State, and the people of the state, the Governor extended his heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, the management and staff of BATV, the NUJ Bauchi State Council, and the entire media community.
Similarly, the Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Hon. Abubakar Y. Suleiman, described the late Ibrahim Idris Shall as a man of integrity and dedication who lived an exemplary life and served as a role model in broadcasting and public relations.
In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Mukhtar Garba Kobi, the Speaker noted that during his tenure as managing director of BATV, the late media administrator worked tirelessly to upgrade the station through the acquisition of modern equipment, regular staff training, and prompt payment of staff remuneration.
According to the Speaker, the deceased raised the standard of broadcast journalism and mentored many young professionals who are today making significant contributions to the media industry.
“He will be remembered for his kindness, exemplary leadership, jovial disposition, and unwavering commitment to inspiring young people to pursue their ambitions,” the Speaker stated.
Also paying tribute, former Bauchi State Governor and APC 2027 governorship candidate, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, SAN, described the late Ibrahim Idris Shall as a dedicated public servant, seasoned broadcaster, and consummate professional.
In a condolence message issued by his digital and creative media aide, Shamsuddeen Lukman Abubakar, the former governor said the deceased made significant contributions to the development of the media industry and government communication in Bauchi State.
He noted that Alhaji Ibrahim Idris Shall served diligently during his administration, demonstrating commitment, integrity, and a strong sense of responsibility in the discharge of his duties as Managing Director of BATV.
“Alhaji Ibrahim Idris Shall was a humble and hardworking professional whose service to Bauchi State will be remembered. His passing is a great loss to the media community and the state at large,” he said.
Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar extended his condolences to the family of the deceased, the management and staff of BATV, friends, associates, and the people of Bauchi State.
The three leaders prayed for Almighty Allah (SWT) to forgive the shortcomings of the late Alhaji Ibrahim Idris Shall, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and give his family, friends, colleagues, and associates the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
