Gov Buni Approves N708m Payment To 461 Yobe Retirees

Yobe State governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has approved the sum of N708,158, 208.77 for payment of retirement benefits to 461 retirees.

The approval was granted following the successful screening of the third batch of pensioners in the 17 local government areas of the state.

The payment would be made directly to the retirees while the Next of Kins of those deceased would also be paid.

It would be recalled that Governor Buni had in November last year approved an upward review of the monthly standing payment of gratuities from N100 million to N200 million.

The governor said the review of gratuity payments was aimed at covering more beneficiaries every month.
