As the sales of nomination and expression of interest forms ended yesterday, Akwa Ibom State governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has submitted his documents for the primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
To ensure his reelection, Eno has rallied party supporters and the electorate to be in the vanguard of realising his second mission to the Hilltop Mansion (Government House), Uyo, the state capital.
Addressing journalists at the Victor Attah International Airport (VAIA), Uyo, on his return from Abuja, where he submitted the forms, the governor said his aspiration was predicated on the need to consolidate further on the numerous ongoing projects in the state.
He noted that the state, under his administration, had recorded several developmental milestones anchored on the ARISE Agenda, adding that some of the projects cannot be completed before the end of the current administration.
The governor said that, as the visioner of the projects, it would be more beneficial to the state for the projects to be executed as envisioned by the visionary.
“We will continue to pray, trust in God, and remain committed to serving our people. But you can see clearly that there is still so much work on the ground. Many of the projects we have started will not be completed by the end of this term.
“That is why we are asking for another mandate to drive home these initiatives and consolidate on the progress made for the benefit of our people,” he added.
The governor appreciated the people for their unwavering support for him in the last three years and expressed the hope that such would be sustained in the remaining year of the first term and in the second term.
