The Adamawa State government has commissioned the newly constructed Government House Yola Friday Mosque.
The commissioning marked the completion of the mosque, which is expected to provide a befitting place of worship for the Muslim faithful within the Government House and surrounding communities.
Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri commended the resilience and contributions of all those who supported the construction of the mosque.
Fintiri called on Muslims to invest in Islamic activities and urged parents to ensure their children acquire both Islamic and Western education, describing education as essential to raising responsible members of society.
In his remarks, Sheikh Abubakar Muktar Yola emphasised the importance of unity among Muslims and urged the faithful to uphold the virtues and teachings of Islam.
He commended Governor Fintiri for building a befitting Juma’at Mosque at the Government House, noting that there was previously no mosque of such within the premises.
Earlier, the guest speaker and Commander of Hisbah in Kano State, Sheikh Aminu Daurawa, described the commissioning as a moment of joy and commended the state government for the initiative.
