The Adamawa State governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to partnering with the Turkish Embassy in Nigeria to create more opportunities and provide support for the people of the state.
The governor made this known in his office while receiving the Turkish Ambassador to Nigeria, Mehmet Poroy, who was on a working visit to the state.
Speaking during the visit, the governor expressed appreciation to the ambassador for visiting the state.
He noted that the Adamawa State Government has sponsored several youths to Turkey to study in various disciplines.
He explained that upon completion of their studies, the beneficiaries are expected to contribute to improved service delivery and help address long-standing security challenges.
The governor also commended the Turkish Government for its continued support to the people of Adamawa State, adding that the Fresh Air administration looks forward to strengthening collaboration for enhanced security and sustainable development.
Earlier, Ambassador Poroy said his visit was aimed at engaging with the government and people of the state, particularly Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
He disclosed that he visited the Malkohi IDP Camp in Yola South Local Government Area, where he donated relief materials for distribution to displaced persons.
The highlight of the visit was the exchange of gifts between the governor and the ambassador as a mark of mutual honour, respect, and appreciation.
