Adamawa State government has launched a  10-year roadmap for the socioeconomic transformation of the state.

The strategic development plan is designed to guide inclusive development, economic growth, social equity and environmental sustainability  through public planning, budgeting and investment coordination in the state.

The plan focuses on five strategic pillars of security, governance, economy, human capital and environment WASH.

The plan when implemented would strengthen agriculture, health, nutrition, education, social development, infrastructure and governance.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri in his speech at the occasion said the plan is a scale up of the just concluded and implemented Medium Term Development Plan, MTDP(2021-2025), a five-year plan.

Represented by his deputy, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, he stressed that the  10-year roadmap is a shared vision, and a social contract between the government and the governed.

“This 10-year roadmap is more than a policy document;  it is a People’s Plan, a shared vision, and a social contract between the government and the governed.

“We pledged to move our state from the periphery to the center of systematic national development discourse, the Adamawa State Strategic Development Plan is the practical manifestation of that commitment.”

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barrister Awal Tukur in his remarks

said the  document is a collective blueprint for transformation-a bold vision crafted from extensive consultations, data-driven insights, and an unwavering commitment to uplifting every community across the state.

Tukur urged people to collectively resolve to translate the plan  into tangible results for the people of Adamawa State.

The executive chairperson, State Planning Commission, Dr Mary Pendiga lauded the visionary leadership of the present administration which paved the way for the actualisation of the plan.
