Kebbi State governor, Nasir Idris, has approved N900 million as take-off grant for the newly established Kebbi State Bureau of Statistics (KBSBOS).
The commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Dr Abba Sani Kalgo, disclosed this to journalists in Birnin Kebbi.
He said the grant will facilitate effective data collection and collation to support the administration’s development agenda.
Kalgo also added that the funds will enable the Bureau to commence full operations and deliver accurate, measurable, and purpose-driven data to guide policy formulation and implementation in the state.
According to the commissioner, governor Idris has approved the immediate appointment of Prof Usman as the pioneer chief executive of the Bureau.
He emphasised that the administration strongly believes that no government can change what it cannot measure and that is why it established the Bureau of Statistics.
