Gov Idris, Tinubu’s Daughter Marry Off 600 Couples At Mass Wedding

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State, alongside the Daughter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Dr Mujidat Folashade Tinubu, married off 600 couples at a massive wedding ceremony that took place in Birnin Kebbi, the Capital of Kebbi State, yesterday.

Speaking during the event, Governor Nasir Idris assured the people of Kebbi state that the programme would continue to hold every year as long as his administration remained in office.

The programme, which he said was organised by his administration in collaboration with the office of NANA’S Foundation owned by his wife, Dr Nafisa Nasir Idris, had sponsored 300 females and another 300 males drawn from poor backgrounds, widows and disabled people, with an Islamic dowry of N250 thousand, settled by the government through the foundation.

Governor Idris, while congratulating the benefiting couples, advised them to respect the virtue of joining them as couples in marriage in accordance with the teachings of Islam.

He thanked all those who witnessed the ceremony especially the daughter of President Tinubu, Islamic scholars and dignitaries from all nooks and crannies of the state.
