Governor Dauda Lawal approved a 50 percent reduction in hospital service fees and medical bills for persons with disabilities across all government health facilities in the state.

Commissioner for Health Dr. Nafisa Maradun said the initiative was in tandem with the state government’s efforts to promote inclusive healthcare and provide social protection for vulnerable populations.

Dr Maradun said the decision reflects Governor Lawal’s strong commitment to ensuring equitable access to medical services for all residents, particularly those with special needs.

According to the Commissioner, the policy will greatly reduce the financial burden on persons with disabilities, enabling them to seek timely and quality healthcare without undue hardship.

She emphasized that the Zamfara State Ministry of Health will work closely with health institutions to ensure full implementation of the directive across the state.
