In an effort to reposition and restore the lost glory of Jigawa Golden Star Football Club after dropping out of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) four years ago, the new management has been constituted to run the club.
The state governor, Malam Umar Namadi, approved the appointment of the new team management in a press statement signed by the secretary to the state governor, Malam Bala Ibrahim.
Jigawa Golden Star performances have been deteriorating over the years after dropping out of Nigeria’s top flight to the second division, Nigeria National League (NNL) and now struggling in the national amateur group.
The new appointed management, headed by Gambo Umar Labbo as chairman; includes Engineer Idris Zangi (Vice Chairman);
Abdulmajid Auwal Ali (Team Manager); Baba Garba (Asst. Team Manager); Hauwa Garba (Welfare); Ado Mato Gwaram (Coach) and Sabo Abdullahi (FA Representative).
Other members are Ibrahim Isyaku (PRO); Dodo Isah, Jafaru M. Shu’aibu, Abdulkadir Kalla (Members) and Ali M. Ibrahim (Club Secretary).
The state governor also approved the establishment and appointments of the pioneer management crew for Junior Golden Stars (Danmodi Strikers) which will serve as feeder team for Jigawa Golden Stars main team.
The pioneer management crew are Ibrahim Auwal Kwiachiri (Chairman); Babangida M. Shalla (Team Manager);
Hassan Magaji (Welfare); Nura Arma Maigatari (Coach); Muhammad Ado (Asst. Coach); Suleiman Isyaku (PRO);
Sabo Saleh Gantsa (Member) and Ibrahim Jibrin (Secretary).
The statement explained that the new management crews were carefully selected on merit, competence and experience.
