The wife of the Ebonyi State Governor, Mrs. Uzoamaka Nwifuru, has inaugurated an ultra modern health centre and the National Teachers Institute, NTI Kaduna, Study Centre, all in the Ohaukwu local government area of the state for easy access to healthcare facility and quality education.
Mrs. Nwifuru also distributed food items to the people of Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency provided by the member representing the Federal Constituency, Hon Eze Nwachukwu Eze, through the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA.
The food items distributed included bags of 25kg rice, cartoons of noodles, sachets of salts and cartoons of tomato paste among others.
Mrs. Nwifuru inaugurated the projects during the Grand Finale of the 2nd Year in Office and Projects Inauguration of the member representing Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency, Hon Eze Nwachukwu Eze.
She said that the legislative style of Hon Nwachukwu has been impactful adding that his empowerment programmes have helped
the rural dwellers adding that government should touch the people’s healthcare and other aspects of life.
She urged the people of the constituency especially women to remain resilient and determined adding that her office through her pet project BERWO will continue to fight for the rights and upliftment of women and children in the constituency.
In his address, Hon Eze Nwachukwu said that he was moved to construct the health centre to end the number of avoidable deaths recorded in the area as a result of the activities of quacks in the area adding that the people in the past had bitter experience in the hands of quacks.
Hon Nwachukwu noted that he was also moved to attract the NTI Kaduna Study Centre to the local government to enable the people especially girls to have access to tertiary education which will also help them shun many social vices amongst the youths of the area.
