Gov Otu Appoints Angela Odey Special Adviser On Rural Development

Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State has appointed Chief Mrs. Angela Ogeyi Odey as his Special Adviser on Rural Development.

Before her appoinment, Chief Ogeyi Odey was a former Federal Board Member Rubber Research Institute of Nigeria.

The appointment which has received applause, has been considered a testament to her tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to public service.

In a congratulatory message to the Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Otu and wife, Rev (Mrs) Eyoanwan Bassey Otu, Chief Angela Odey expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the new appointment, which offers her the opportunity to serve.

She highlighted humanity as the core of her political involvement, underscoring her commitment to serve and deliver in any position she finds herself.

“I am deeply humbled and grateful for this appointment. I thank the Governor for his trust in me, and I am committed to ensuring that the dividends of democracy reaches every corner of our rural communities. Humanity has always been my driving force, and it will continue to guide my actions and decisions.”

The former Senior Special Assistant on Mobilization and Director General, School to Land to Gov Ayade also assured the Governor and his wife of her unwavering support for their administration; pledging to continue to support the government and work diligently to ensure that rural development initiatives are successful.

“My focus will be uplifting the grassroots and bringing tangible improvements to the lives of our people” she reiterated.
