Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda has reaffirmed his dedication to fostering unity and driving development across the North West as he chaired the Northwest Governors’ Forum meeting in Kaduna State.
The strategic gathering, which aimed to deepen regional collaboration, was attended by Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal, Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, and the Forum’s Director-General, Hajiya Maryam Musa Yahaya.
In his opening remarks, Governor Radda, who leads the Forum as Chairman, emphasised that the meeting was centred on economic growth, agricultural advancement, and addressing insecurity in the region.
“This forum has come a long way. We’ve been championing joint efforts across our states and are already seeing impact through partnerships with development agencies and implementation of agreed initiatives,” Radda noted.
He stressed that the Forum is a non-partisan platform focused solely on the well-being of the people.
“This is not a partisan forum. It’s a form of progress, one that prioritises the economic well-being and safety of our people,” he added.
Governor Radda warmly welcomed his fellow governors, thanked the press and stakeholders for their presence, and then moved the meeting into a closed-door session to allow for more in-depth deliberations on pressing regional issues.

Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, governor of Katsina State and chairman of the Northwest Governors’ Forum, has attended the Northern States Governors’ Forum meeting.
The high-level meeting, chaired by Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, brought together key governors from across the northern region, including those of Zamfara, Kebbi, Niger, and other neighbouring states.

The meeting also featured a notable assembly of traditional rulers, underscoring the significance of unity and cultural leadership in regional governance. Among the dignitaries present were the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III; the Emir of Zazzau, Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli; and the Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar.
