The Katsina State Governor Mallam Umaru Dikko Radda has urged the federal government to support his state in the fight against bandits.
He made the appeal while addressing some youths of Wurma community in Birchi who protested against the attacks by bandits in the area.
Governor Radda expressed sympathy with the victims, assuring them of his administration’s efforts with security agencies to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

Assuring that the government would mobilise security personnel to Wurma, he urged them to nominate 10 people who would meet him in Katsina and devise ways to cushion their challenge particularly as the Ramadan approaches.
“Your protest is genuine and I feel for you, but please remain calm as the government is doing all it can to stop this. Words cannot express the profound grief I feel for the families who have lost loved ones in this senseless act of violence.

“My heart aches for the children who have lost their parents and the community that has been so deeply affected. I stand with you in this time of unimaginable pain and hardship.”
“I call for peace and unity within the community,” Governor Radda said.
