Special assistant on Public Mobilisation to the Katsina State Governor, Alhaji Abdulaziz Maituraka, has distributed eggs and cartons of instant noodles to 200 tea vendors in Katsina metropolis.
Maituraka also donated N4 million to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina local government area.
He said the beneficiaries included the council APC executives, ward party leaders, the 11 serving councillors, former councillors, and polling unit officials across the local government.
Speaking to a large gathering of APC members in Katsina, Maituraka said the gesture was in response to Governor Dikko Umaru Radda’s appeal to prominent APC members in the state to support grassroots party members and vulnerable citizens.
He also pledged to continue assisting small-scale entrepreneurs and less privileged APC members through similar empowerment programmes.
Beyond the distribution of business support items and financial assistance, Maituraka honoured two retired senior police officers who distinguished themselves in combating insecurity in Katsina LGA.
In his remarks, the state APC chairman, Dr Bishir Gambo Saulawa, commended Maituraka for responding to Governor Radda’s call to support the people, particularly party members.
Saulawa urged other influential APC members to emulate Maituraka’s efforts to empower small business owners, support party members, and provide relief to people in need.
He also advised opposition parties in the state to offer constructive criticism of Governor Radda’s administration rather than focusing solely on attacking the governor.
The APC chairman highlighted several achievements of the Radda administration in healthcare, education, urban development, and community infrastructure.
