Governor Abba Yusuf has joined other first-term governors in declaring total support for President Bola Tinubu and the continuation of the Renewed Hope Agenda beyond 2027.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Governor’s Spokesman, Sunusi Bature, on Tuesday.

In a communiqué issued after the meeting of 15 first-term governors in Birnin Kebbi and read by the host Governor, Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu, the governors—including those of Kano, Jigawa, Sokoto, Zamfara, Kebbi, Ondo, Taraba, Delta, Ekiti, Kogi, Benue, Ebonyi, Edo and Plateau States—unanimously declared support for President Tinubu’s second-term bid.

The governors acknowledged the sacrifices Nigerians have made due to the ongoing economic reforms, saying the country is undergoing a necessary period of correction after years of fiscal and development challenges.

They said the reforms are necessary to stabilise the economy, restore public finances, attract investment, strengthen productivity and improve security.

The communiqué said their support for President Tinubu is based on the need for courageous leadership, policy continuity and stronger collaboration between the Federal and State Governments.

The governors urged Nigerians to look beyond the temporary discomfort and remain committed to the reforms, expressing confidence that they would deliver lasting recovery, shared prosperity and democratic stability.

On security, the governors expressed concern over terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and attacks on schools, pledging closer collaboration with security agencies, traditional institutions and local communities to protect lives and property.

They also condemned the abduction of children, attacks on schools and all forms of criminality threatening peace, education and economic activities.
