Kano State governor Abba Yusuf has written to the Kano State House of Assembly seeking its approval to appoint Inuwa Idris (rtd) as a commissioner and member of the state executive council.

The request letter, written to the Assembly, was addressed to the speaker, Jibril Falgore who read it on the floor of the House during an emergency plenary session held yesterday.

Stressing the importance of the appointment, the majority leader, Lawan Husseini noted that screening and filling the vacant position would enhance the security in the state.

After careful deliberations, the house agreed that the nominee come before the house for screening on Wednesday, July 31st, 2024, by 10.00 a.m.

LEADERSHIP recalled that Governor Yusuf had in March 2024 approved the creation of new ministries, of which the Ministry of Internal Security and Special Service commissioner position was vacant.
