Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Yusuf, on Sunday received the fourth batch of pilgrims returning from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia after completing the 2026 Hajj exercise, urging them to sustain the virtues of patience, discipline, sacrifice and devotion acquired during the spiritual journey.
The governor, who welcomed the pilgrims at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for granting them a safe and successful pilgrimage.
Governor Yusuf said the successful completion of the Hajj exercise was a testimony to the dedication of all stakeholders involved in ensuring the welfare and comfort of Kano pilgrims.
He commended the Amirul Hajj and Emir of Gaya, Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir, for his leadership and commitment throughout the pilgrimage, noting that his guidance contributed to the smooth coordination of the pilgrims in the Holy Land.
The governor also praised the management of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board for what he described as a professional and dedicated approach towards the conduct of the 2026 Hajj operations.
Yusuf said the welfare, safety and comfort of Kano pilgrims remained a priority of his administration, expressing satisfaction with reports on the overall performance of the exercise.
He urged the returning pilgrims to reflect the lessons of Hajj in their daily lives by upholding values of patience, discipline, sacrifice and devotion.
The governor also encouraged them to continue praying for peace, unity and prosperity in Kano State and Nigeria, stressing that the significance of Hajj extends beyond the religious rites to positive conduct and peaceful coexistence.
He appreciated the Emir of Karaye, Alhaji Muhammad Mahraz, for his support and guidance towards the success of the 2026 Hajj operations.
Governor Yusuf further commended members of the press and social media influencers for their role in providing timely information and supporting effective communication throughout the pilgrimage.
He wished the pilgrims safe reunions with their families and prayed for the acceptance of their Hajj and other acts of worship.
