Nasarawa Strengthens Ties with China for Industrial Growth, Signs Another MoU

The Nasarawa State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Jinlide Mining Nigeria Limited to facilitate strategic collaboration and cooperation in the development of lithium resources in the state.

The MoU was signed by the MD/CEO of NASIDA, Ibrahim Abdullahi, on behalf of the state government.

The signing ceremony took place shortly after Governor Abdullahi A. Sule officially commissioned the Jinlide-Qiangyu New Energy state-of-the-art production facility in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, in the People’s Republic of China.

Speaking during the occasion, Governor Sule reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to attracting strategic international investments aimed at driving sustainable economic growth, job creation, and industrialisation.

Governor Sule, who attended the event alongside his Zamfara State counterpart, Governor Dauda Lawal, described the commissioning of the high-tech facility as a significant step forward for resource-rich Nigerian states.

“This project represents another milestone in the growing partnership between Chinese investors and Nigerian states endowed with critical solid minerals,” Governor Sule stated.

He emphasized the need to transition from raw mineral export to local processing and manufacturing.

The governor said his administration is committed to transparent policies, infrastructure support, and a responsible mining framework.

He also disclosed that more Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) are planned to expand Chinese investments across the mining and energy sectors.

While commending the management of Jinlide-Qiangyu New Energy for their confidence in Nigeria’s economy, the governor highlighted the importance of advancing the global clean energy value chain.

He assured prospective investors that Nasarawa State remains dedicated to fostering a secure and profitable environment for legitimate businesses.

“Our administration will continue to encourage investments that add value to the state’s mineral resources, create employment opportunities, facilitate technology transfer, and stimulate inclusive economic development,” Sule said.

He added that his delegation looks forward to “signing more Memoranda of Understanding with Chinese companies aimed at deepening existing partnerships and expanding investment opportunities in the mining and industrial sectors.”

After the official commissioning, Governor Sule and his delegation were conducted on an extensive tour of the facility.

The delegation inspected the plant’s advanced manufacturing lines, modern processing technology, and quality control systems.

The governor, who was impressed by the operations, stressed the necessity of replicating similar processing and value-addition infrastructure in Nasarawa State to maximize the economic returns on its solid mineral wealth.

At the event, the management of Jinlide-Qiangyu New Energy presented Governor Sule with a special plaque of honour in recognition of his leadership and efforts toward promoting bilateral economic cooperation.

The visit forms part of a broader foreign investment drive to consolidate Nasarawa State’s position as Nigeria’s premier hub for responsible mining and industrial development.
