Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has congratulated the newly appointed Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Segun Aina, describing his appointment by President Bola Tinubu as a recognition of excellence and competence.

In a statement issued on Thursday by the spokesperson to the Osun State Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke said Aina’s impressive academic background and experience positioned him well to lead the nation’s placement examination body.

The governor described the 39-year-old Professor of Computer Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, as an outstanding scholar whose contributions had expanded knowledge in academia.

Adeleke expressed confidence in Aina’s ability to drive reforms and further growth in the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, noting that his exploits in the academic sector had adequately prepared him for the task ahead.

“I’m most delighted to learn of the appointment of Mr Segun Aina, a professor of Computer Engineering at the Obafemi Awolowo University, as the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board,” the governor said.

“At 39, Mr Aina has shown exceptional capacity, and it is heartwarming to see that President Bola Tinubu has found him worthy of leading an important institution at the heart of our country’s education system.”

Adeleke also commended Tinubu for giving another indigene of Osun State the opportunity to contribute to national development through public service.

He urged the new JAMB registrar to justify the confidence reposed in him by positively projecting Osun State through impactful leadership at the examination body.

The governor further congratulated elder statesman and father of the appointee, Prof. Olu Aina, over what he described as the honour brought by the appointment.

He wished the new JAMB registrar a successful five-year tenure and expressed hope that his leadership would bring more glory to Osun State and Nigeria’s education sector.
