Governor Fintiri Warns Against Aiding Criminals

Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has warned that anyone found providing information to insurgents would face the full weight of the law, as the state government handed over 40 motorcycles to support security operations in the Hong local government area.

CHANNELS TV reports that the governor issued the warning through the commissioner for education and human capital development, Garba Pella, who represented him at the handover ceremony.
Pella said the intervention reflected the governor’s commitment to protecting lives and ensuring that no part of the state was left vulnerable to insecurity.

He said the motorcycles would enhance the mobility of security agencies and strengthen their operations against Boko Haram and other insurgent groups, particularly in difficult-to-access areas.
The commissioner disclosed that intelligence gathered by security agencies indicated that some individuals were allegedly leaking security information to insurgents.

He therefore urged traditional institutions and communities to take greater responsibility in the fight against insecurity by working closely with security agencies to identify and report suspected informants.
Pella warned that anyone found providing information to criminals would be dealt with in accordance with the law, assuring that the state government would continue to provide security agencies with the necessary resources to protect lives and property and contain insurgency.
