Unveils Modern Mechanic Village, Inspects Roads, Gully Erosion, 3 Arms Zone Projects

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has intensified his administration’s infrastructure push with the commissioning of a purpose-built mechanic village along Bajoga Road and a comprehensive inspection of major ongoing projects across the state capital.

The newly inaugurated facility is expected to transform the operations of automobile technicians by offering a structured, accessible and conducive workspace.

Positioned strategically between the Ibrahim Dankwambo Mega Motor Park and the state office of the Road Transport Employers Association, the mechanic village is designed to improve service delivery while easing access for vehicle owners.

Addressing a large gathering of mechanics and supporters who turned out in celebration, Governor Inuwa Yahaya emphasized the vital contribution of technicians to the transport ecosystem and the economy.

He said the project is a deliberate policy to recognize and support skilled workers, while also enhancing urban order and economic productivity.

The governor assured beneficiaries that the government remains open to expanding the facility to meet growing demand.

The commissioning ceremony was followed by an inspection tour of key infrastructure projects within the metropolis.

At the Three Arm Zone, housing the state secretariat, House of Assembly and High Court complexes, the governor expressed strong satisfaction with the quality, progress and workmanship on site.

He, however, issued a firm directive to contractors to maintain strict adherence to quality standards, warning against any compromise.

He emphasized that funding will not be a constraint, as adequate provisions have been secured to ensure seamless project execution.

The Governor also inspected the extensive road network crisscrossing wthe Three Arm Zone and the 76.5-meter underpass in the city centre.

The Project Manager from Triacta Nigeria Limited, Engr Imran Amin Khan described the underpass as the most extensive tunnel project ever handled by the company, signaling the ambitious nature of the infrastructure renewal in Gombe.

He disclosed that no less than N77 billion has been committed to road construction spanning the Shehu Abubakar District, the underpass corridor, the Yemi Osinbajo Southern Bypass, and the Three Arms Zone.

At the  erosion control project site, Governor Inuwa Yahaya conducted an on-foot assessment of the intervention, expressing satisfaction with efforts to contain a long-troubling gully erosion that had threatened lives and property for years.

The Permanent Secretary of the Gombe State Ministry of Works, Danladi Adamu, had earlier briefed the governor on the progress of each of the projects, assuring that all timelines remain on track.

During the inauguration of the mechanic village, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya was honoured by the National Association of Automobile Technicians in recognition of his administration’s sustained commitment to the growth and welfare of automobile technicians.
