…Restates Commitment to Strengthening Primary Healthcare Delivery Across Gombe State

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has undertaken a routine supervisory visit to the Dukku Primary Health Care Centre in Dukku Local Government Area as part of his routine quarterly inspection of health facilities across the state.

The visit formed part of the Governor’s continuous efforts to monitor the performance of the healthcare sector and ensure that investments made by the state government translate into improved service delivery at the grassroots.

During the inspection, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Habu Dahiru, led the Governor on the tour of key sections of the facility where he assessed the level of services being provided to residents of the community.

Speaking during the visit, Governor Inuwa Yahaya reiterated his administration’s commitment to strengthening primary healthcare services as the foundation of an effective health system.

He noted that primary healthcare centres play a critical role in delivering essential medical services to rural communities, particularly in maternal and child health, disease prevention and basic treatment.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya explained that since the inception of his government, the administration has prioritized the revitalization and upgrade of healthcare facilities across the state in line with global best practices and national health sector reforms.

He emphasized that the quarterly supervisory visits provide an opportunity for him to personally obtain first-hand information about the condition of facilities, availability of personnel and equipment, as well as challenges confronting health workers.

“We are committed to ensuring that our people have access to quality and affordable healthcare services. These routine visits enable us to evaluate our progress and identify areas where additional support is required”, the Governor stated.

He commended the personnel at the Dukku Primary Health Care Centre for their dedication to duty and urged them to remain steadfast in providing quality healthcare services to the people, emphasizing that by serving humanity, they are serving God.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya further assured that the state government would continue to invest in the health sector through the provision of modern equipment, improved infrastructure and recruitment of qualified personnel to enhance service delivery.

The Governor also interacted briefly with staff and volunteers at the facility who expressed appreciation to him for the attention being given to improving healthcare services in the area.
