Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has formally received the All Progressives Congress (APC) membership card.
The governor was issued with the membership card after registering as party member at the Hospital Ward, Wukari local government area of the State, by the Ward chairman, Umaru Tanko.
The governor, however, assured residents that he would transform the state, operate an all-inclusive government, and provide more dividends of democracy to the people.
According to Governor Kefas, a new date for his ceremonial reception into the APC will be announced subsequently.
Initially, the governor had planned defecting to APC on November 19, 2025, but suspended it due to the abduction of schoolgirls in kebbi State.
Governor Kefas then appreciated the warm welcome from the APC executives and members across the State, noting that the gesture reflected unity and cooperation within the party.
The development has generated reactions within the state’s political space, as stakeholders viewed it as part of ongoing political realignments ahead of future engagements in Taraba State.
