Governor Kefas Hosts Muslim Council On Sallah Homage

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustaining peace, unity and harmonious coexistence among religion groups and across various ethnic nationalities in the state.

He gave the assurance while receiving the leadership of the Muslim Council of Nigeria, Wukari chapter, who paid him a Sallah homage at the TY Danjuma House in Wukari. He urged residents to put past differences behind them for the collective progress of the state.

The governor expressed satisfaction over the peaceful celebration of the Eid-el-Kabir festival and stressed the need for continued tolerance and mutual understanding among residents irrespective of ethnic or religious affiliations.

According to him, incidents that may have threatened peace in the area in the past should be treated as bygones and should not be allowed to reoccur.

He also urged Islamic religious leaders and other stakeholders to remain vigilant against actions capable of undermining peace and stability in the community.

 

Governor Kefas said, his administration recorded achievements in critical sectors, including education, security, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, as well as the payment of pensions and gratuities.

The governor assured residents that his administration would continue to provide democratic dividends to all parts of the state without discrimination.

 

Earlier, the leader of the Muslim delegation, said the visit was to felicitate with the governor during the Sallah celebration and commended him for ongoing developmental projects across Taraba State.

 

During the visit, special prayers were offered for the governor and for sustained peace, unity and progress in the state.
