Gov. Uba Sani of Kaduna State on Wednesday inaugurated the 23km Madauchi-Madakiya-Kafanchan road, ending years of difficult travel and isolation.
Speaking at the inauguration of the road, Sani explained that it was a clear demonstration of his government’s resolve to reach communities previously marginalised.
According to him, Zangon Kataf was among 12 Local Government Areas in the state that had not benefited from any road project in the last 12 years.
“This prolonged neglect constrains economic activity, limits access to opportunities and makes daily life more difficult for our people. That reality was unacceptable.
“Under this administration, we believe firmly in inclusivity, fairness and justice.
“We believe that every son and daughter of Kaduna State deserves equal treatment irrespective of their geographical location, religious affiliation and ethnic background.
“Accordingly, as a responsible government, we are deliberately and decisively changing the narrative of uneven distribution of projects across our state.
“We are reversing decades of underinvestment and marginalisation by ensuring that development is inclusive and balanced and people-centred,” he assured.
He emphasised that community ownership and vigilance were essential to preserving the asset for future generations.
In his remarks, Sen. Sunday Katung (APC-Kaduna South) commended the governor for his visionary and transformational leadership in the state.
Katung described the road as strategic, noting that it would serve as a critical link among settlements within the area.
A cross-section of residents who spoke to newsmen lauded the state government for its consistent commitment to rural transformation.
According to them, the Madauchi-Madakiya-Kafanchan road will boost agricultural production by easing the movement of produce from farms to markets. (NAN)
