Kano State governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has signed the 2026 Appropriation Bill of N1.47trillion into law.
The governor assented to the budget on Wednesday during a meeting of the State Executive Council (SEC) held in Kano.
The appropriation law, which stands at N1,477,829,666,131, was approved last week by the Kano State House of Assembly during plenary presided over by the Speaker, Alhaji Ismail Falgore.
LEADERSHIP reports Governor Yusuf had earlier presented a budget estimates of N1,368,127,929,271 to the Assembly, tagged ‘Budget of Infrastructure, Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development’.
According to the governor, the 2026 budget was designed to consolidate ongoing projects while introducing new interventions across key sectors of the state’s economy, with emphasis on infrastructure development, inclusive economic growth and sustainable development.
