The second edition of the Quomodo Inter-Schools Swimming Competition concluded recently at Ikoyi Club 1938, with Grange School emerging as the overall champions after a closely contested event among the participating schools.
The swimming pool at Ikoyi Club was filled with excitement over the weekend as seven schools showcased their young primary and secondary school swimmers.
Sponsored by Quomodo Systems Africa, the event featured spirited performances from swimmers representing Avi-Cenna International School, Children’s International School, Corona Schools, Grange School, Greensprings School, Lagoon & Whitesands Schools, and Meadow Hall School.
From the opening events to the final relays, the atmosphere poolside was electrifying, charged with cheers, school pride, banter, and a healthy dose of rivalry.
Ultimately, Grange School topped the leaderboard with 517 points, followed by Children’s International School with 389 points, and Corona Schools in third place with 250.5 points.
Greensprings School finished fourth with 196.5 points, while Meadow Hall School secured fifth position with 149 points. Lagoon & Whitesands Schools ended with 87 points, and Avi-Cenna International School concluded with 68 points.
Akinbulejo Onabolu, Chairman of the Ikoyi Club Swimming Section, praised the standard of the event, remarking that it reflects Nigeria’s growing prospects in swimming, a sport that is rapidly becoming part of the culture.
Quomodo Systems Africa views the competition as a commitment to nurturing the future of young athletes.
Olufunke Preghafi, Quomodo’s General Manager of Finance, expressed her delight at witnessing children as young as six displaying such skill, energy, and determination.
“This is one of our key CSR projects this year,” she noted. “Quomodo has always been dedicated to youth development and holistic growth. Swimming builds confidence, strength, and resilience—qualities that children can carry into all areas of life. That’s why we are proud to support this initiative.”
With every stroke and dive, these young swimmers not only entertained the crowd but also embodied the promise of a new generation of swimmers for Nigeria.
