The International Peace Commission (IPC) has dismissed one of its members over alleged gross misconduct.
The termination of Anthony Odumah Obiora was contained in a statement signed by the world chairman and ambassador of the International Peace Commission, IPC, Prince Hassan.
According to Hassan, Obiora’s membership termination was done in accordance with a “comprehensive review of documented evidence”, which resulted in the withdrawal of all the privileges he used to enjoy.
The statement reads in part, “In exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Constitution of the International Peace Commission (IPC) at Chapter 10, Article 30, Paragraph B-2, associated with the Conference of NGOs (CONGO) in Consultative Relationship with the United Nations Organization (UNO), re-approved by the Supreme Council’s IPC Management Meeting held in Washington, D.C., United States of America, in November 2005.
“I, Prince Hassan, World Chairman & Ambassador of the International Peace Commission, hereby issue formal notification of the immediate termination of Mr Anthony Odumah Obiora’s life membership Identification Code: IPC/LMNA/05567 and all associated roles, privileges, and recognitions within IPC.
“This action follows a comprehensive review of documented evidence, including materials issued to individuals, communications conducted without authorisation, the opening of an unauthorised bank account, and other activities carried out in violation of IPC’s Constitution and bylaws.
“Therefore, the Office of the World Chairman of the International Peace Commission (IPC) hereby formally announces to the general public, all diplomatic missions, law enforcement agencies, regulatory authorities, international organizations, financial institutions, and all stakeholders within Nigeria and across the world that Mr. Anthony Odumah Obiora has been completely and permanently removed from all affiliations, titles, positions, rights, privileges, and recognitions of the International Peace Commission (IPC) with immediate effect.
“Mr Anthony Odumah Obiora is no longer a Life Member, Officer, Representative, or Ambassador of IPC in any capacity whatsoever. He has been directed to immediately cease and desist from using the name, logo, seal, documents, credentials, or authority of the International Peace Commission (IPC), whether in Nigeria or internationally.
“Furthermore, he has been instructed to refund all monies collected from any individual, organisation, or institution under the name or representation of IPC, and to provide verifiable documentary proof of such refunds without delay.
“He is also required to close all unauthorised bank accounts opened in the name of IPC and submit written evidence confirming such closures.”
