The All Progressives Congress Like Minds Political Forum (APC-LMPF) in Plateau State has condemned the endorsement of Plateau State Governor Barr Caleb Mutfwang by a member of the APC, Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, for the 2027 governorship election.

The forum after its meeting in Jos in a statement issued by the national secretary, Alhaji Habibu Sati, said Zazzaga’s endorsement of Governor Mutfwang of the PDP was reckless, malicious and self-serving.

“It was a calculated attempt to rubbish, not only the reputation of the party in the state and at the national level, but also an attempt to derail the genuine efforts of its stakeholders to reposition the party in the state,” the forum said.

It said Zazzaga’s action lacked the consent of the APC at any level and insisted that the party had never contemplated endorsing an opposition candidate for governor.

“It’s curious for someone who claimed to be a member of the APC to agitate for a candidate from the opposition party to vie for the number one seat in which the APC stands a better chance to reclaim after the fiasco of 2023,” the forum said.

They also dismissed the North Central Stakeholders Forum as an, “unregistered and unrecognised entity,” citing a prior court ruling that stripped it of any moral authority to make pronouncements.
