Katsina State chapter of the Civil Society Action Coalition on Education for All (CSACEFA) has called for stronger collaboration among government agencies, development partners and other stakeholders to address challenges facing the education sector in the state.

The appeal was made at an event marking CSACEFA’s 25th anniversary, held at the coalition’s state office in Katsina.

The gathering brought together education stakeholders, civil society groups, and the media to reflect on the coalition’s achievements and chart new paths for improving access to quality education.

In his address, the state coordinator of CSACEFA, Alhaji Hussaini Sale, described the celebration as a time for reflection and renewed commitment toward ensuring inclusive and equitable learning opportunities for all children in Katsina State.

“As we celebrate this milestone, we are reminded that the task ahead remains enormous. Many children, especially in rural communities, still face barriers to education. We must sustain our collective responsibility to ensure education for all,” Alhaji Hussaini said.

He explained that CSACEFA, established in 2000, has grown into a national coalition promoting education justice, accountability, and inclusiveness across Nigeria.

Over the past 25 years, it has worked closely with stakeholders to influence policies such as the Universal Basic Education (UBE) Act and to advocate for increased funding for the education sector.

Highlighting its achievements in Katsina, the coordinator noted that CSACEFA has played a vital role in facilitating dialogue between the state government, SUBEB, and civil society organisations on issues of education financing, accountability, and community engagement.

“Through community mobilization and partnerships, we have supported initiatives that promote girl-child education, return out-of-school children to classrooms, and strengthen school governance through the training of School-Based Management Committees (SBMCs) and parents,” he added.

The event featured goodwill messages from education stakeholders and partner organizations who commended CSACEFA’s advocacy efforts and pledged continued partnership to advance inclusive and quality education in Katsina State.
