The Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria (MMPN) has asked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to address the rising cases of kidnapping for ransom by criminals operating across the country.
While recalling the incident that affected the Mansur Al-Kadriyyahs in Abuja recently, where a whole family was abducted, the group said it was mind-boggling that the eldest daughter of the family, Najeebah was killed last weekend and five of her siblings are held back by the kidnappers.
In a statement signed by its national coordinator, Malam Ibrahim Abdullahi, the group called for an immediate onslaught on the criminals
Abdullahi warned that the trend portends grave dangers not only to the family of the victims but to entire Nigerians.
The group noted that the time was long overdue to put a halt to the menace.
It, however, commended the former minister of communication and digital economy, Prof. Isa Pantami for facilitating the donation of N50 million for the release of the daughters of Al-Kadiriyah.
Abdullahi called for intensive prayers to Almighty Allah to “touch the hearts” of the kidnappers to release the victims without further delay.
