A Coalition of Igbo Youth Assembly has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to appoint Dr. Halimat Adenike Tejuosho to take charge of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation as Minister.

This was made known during a press conference by the coalition, chaired by the Convener, Chigozie Diogu.

Diogu said, “We support every step taken so far by His Excellency and encourage him to sustain the tempo throughout his tenure in office.

“His Excellency, following the suspension of the Honourable Minister, Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, the Coalition deem it fit to write and recommend a detribalised Nigerian, a Mother Figure, a democrat, an unusual Humanitarian and Philanthropist of Repute for nomination as ministerial nominee for Humanitarian Ministry. She is no less a personality than DR HALIMAT ADENIKE TEJUOSHO, a compassionate servant leader and woman of substance who has been known for her various Humanitarian cum philanthropic activities over the years, using her FOUNDATION – Queen ADENIKE Tejuosho Foundation to touch many lives.

“Dr Adenike Tejuosho is a Nigerian from Lagos state, she has a Bsc in Business Administration and MSc in Human Resources Management. She is the MD/CEO of Haleems group of companies. She is well grounded in dredging and construction works. She is also the founder of Queen Adenike Tejuosho Foundation. A non governmental organization which she uses to reach out to the vulnerables and Persons with Disabilities all over the country. She supports widows across the country, gives scholarships to students from primary to university level (Over 300 students have benefited so far), including provision of free JAMB forms.

“His Excellency, If Dr Tejuosho could do all this as a private person, giving succour to the poor, downtrodden and less privileged in the society, then If given public office she will do more, particularly in the ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation which is one of the ministries charged with the implementation of the Renewed Hope agenda of your administration.

“Finally, we assure you of the unalloyed support of the youths of the South East region as you implement your Renewed Hope agenda for the good of the Nigerian people.”
