The Katagum Youths Mobilisation and Enlightenment Forum has called on former general manager of Human Resources at the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Alhaji Aminu Ya’u, to contest the Katagum Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 House of Representatives elections.

The forum said if Ya’u contests and wins, he would expand his humanitarian services across Katagum local government, benefitting more constituents.

Speaking to our correspondent in an interview, representative of the forum, Rufai Wada, said Ya’u has made significant contributions to the community, particularly in securing employment for young people.

“He has facilitated job placements for over 200 youths from Katagum, 85 percent of whom he had never met,” Wada stated.

He added, “You didn’t need to know him personally or have influential connections.

Just send him your CV, and he will take care of the rest.”

Wada noted Ya’u’s legacy of community service, which extends far beyond job creation. Through his foundation, Ya’u has supported orphans and vulnerable individuals in the Katagum Local Government Area. His initiatives include constructing mosques, equipping them with sound systems and furniture, and empowering young people through self-reliance projects.

The forum emphasised that Ya’u’s selfless service and commitment to youth empowerment make him an ideal candidate to represent Katagum Constituency at the national level.

“He has consistently prioritised service over self-interest,” Wada said. “Imagine the impact he could have with a bigger platform.”
