He, however, said the farmer’s daughter has been rescued from their abductors.

Ajayi said men of the Anti-kidnapping unit of the command were deployed to Laduba to rescue the farmer and arrest the perpetrators.

He added that policemen were working in collaboration with the local hunters and vigilantes to rescue the victim.

One of the victim’s relative told LEADERSHIP that: “Mr Kayode Ajayi and his daughter were returning from their farm at Laduba around 7.00pm on Monday when they were kidnapped by unknown gunmen.

“The gunmen later moved the victims far away from the farm but the daughter of Mr Kayode Ajayi was later left off the hook. She later called her mother to inform her that her father had been kidnapped by some suspected gunmen.

“It was at this point that, the wife of Mr Ajayi raised alarm over the kidnapping of her husband and later informed the police about the development.

“I want to tell you that, we have been calling his number since Monday but repeatedly saying not available. We have resorted to prayers and hope that Mr Ajayi will be rescued.”
