Gunmen Kidnap Ex-Taraba LG Boss, Demand N60m

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers, late Saturday night, abducted former Chairman of Donga local government area of Taraba State, Hon. Nashuka Ipeyen.

According to sources from Donga, Nashuka was forcefully taken by the gunmen around 11pm on Saturday while returning to his home town Nyita from Mararaba.

The gunmen, according to a sources who refused to give his name for security reasons, forced the victim out of his private car at Nukunya village into the bush, abandoning his vehicle on the road.

“Nashuka was alone in his private car from Maraba to Nyita, his village which is along Bali-Takum Road, the gunmen intercepted him at Nukunya village and took him to the bush at about 11:45 pm yesterday.

“We have taken his car to the Police Area Command Mararaba, the kidnappers have already contacted his family, they demanded for N60 million from the family as ransom,” the source disclosed.

Contacted, Police Public Relations Officer for Taraba State Police Command, Abdulahi Usman said he was waiting for signal from the DivisionaL Police Officer, DPO Donga local government area.

“I called but the DPO seems to be in the church, I’m still waiting for an official confirmation from him before we can reach to you,” Usman stated.
