Our correspondent reports that the development triggered outrage by the youths who blocked the very busy Lafia-Makurdi Expressway causing gridlock.

A youth leader in the community, Mr. Ogu Iliya, told journalists that gunmen stormed the community around midnight, shooting sporadically.

Iliya said the youths mobilised in self-defence, but in the ensuing face-off, he said one person was abducted and two other locals were shot dead.

He further explained that the kidnapped local was still missing.
