Gunmen suspected to be herdsmen have reportedly attacked Ankpali village in Apa local government area of Benue State and killed nine residents.

An eyewitness said the attack displaced the residents and disrupted farming activities in the community.

Some of the residents of Apa told our correspondent that the attack occurred last Sunday night.

One of the villagers who pleaded anonymity said, “ It occurred on Sunday night, and as I am speaking, the community is deserted. We don’t know how we can farm this season.”
