This latest killing followed series of violent incidents reported in the area, which includes the recent murder of five farmers and multiple kidnappings.

Last week, some students of the Federal College of Agriculture (FECA), Akure were abducted while returning from a farm where they had gone to work in fulfillment of their mandatory Industrial Training (IT) programme.

Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, confirmed the incident

Odunlami-Omisanya assured the public that the police were investigating the case.

“We are on it. We are working to track down the perpetrators and restore security in the area,” the PPRO said.
