National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has expressed readiness to ensure all pilgrims in Nigeria are properly acquainted with dos and don’ts of hajj exercise.
The commissioner representing North- East in the board, Alhaji Abba Jatau, stressed this while declaring open a one-day workshop on civic orientation for officials of the State Pilgrims Welfare Board and Ulamas which was organised by NAHCON held in Bauchi yesterday.
Abba Jatau emphasised that most of the intending pilgrims are rural based pilgrims that need assistance from Ulamas and other Hajj stakeholders.
He urged participants to step down the training to intending pilgrims to enable them to have Hajj Mabrur.
In his welcome address, the executive secretary of the Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris said Bauchi State had in the past trained over 150 trainees to ensure a hitch free hajj exercise.
He expressed optimism that this workshop will refresh their memories and enrich the participants with new knowledge and skills required in assisting and guiding the pilgrims to achieve an acceptable hajj.
Participants at the workshop included Ulamas and officials of the Bauchi, Taraba, Plateau, Gombe and Adamawa states Pilgrims Welfare Board.
