The outgoing President, Muhammadu Buhari, has arrived Eagles Square venue of the inauguration and swearing-in of President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and his Vice President-elect, Kashim Shettima, on Monday morning.
Buhari arrived at about 10.10am and was given a traditional military salute.
Thereafter, the national anthem was sung to formally kickstart the programme of the day.
Earlier, outgoing Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, arrived.
Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Olukayode Ariwoola’s arrival was followed by Ghanaian President, Akufo Ado.
Justice Ariwoola, who will administer the Oaths of Office and Allegiance to both Tinubu and Shettima, arrived the venue at about 9.33am.
Earlier, Vice President-elect, Kashim Shettima, arrived the venue without any fanfare.
Also, Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, jointly arrived at about 9.36am.
Already numerous guests are seated ahead of the programme slated for 10am.
Ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) national chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu; Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege; Amb. Babagana Kingibe; traditional rulers including Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, were already seated.
Also, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Lucky Irabor, three Service Chiefs and Inspector-General of Police are also present, among numerous local and foreign guests.
The event is now underway with opening prayers to be said a Muslim and Christian Clerics at about 10.17am.
