Gombe State Transport Services, a state-owned public transportation company otherwise known as ‚Gombe Line‘ has declared its intention to launch township service in Gombe metropolis and the surrounding areas.
This was made known by the director of the company, Dr Sani Sabo, in a statement he issued to newsmen yesterday.
He said the introduction of the service within the town was in response to Governor Inuwa Yahaya‘s directive to alleviate the impact of fuel subsidy removal in the transportation sector.
Sabo added that their vehicles would be deployed on 8th November, 2023 and would operate on key routes within Gombe metropolis and neighbouring areas, offering subsidized fares to the public.
He said the masses were facing internal transportation challenges due to hike in fares by commercial motorcyclists and KEKE NAPEP operators as a result of fuel subsidy removal hence, the state government through the company decided to bring succour to them.
