African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain, Peter Obi, has questioned what he described as the apparent concentration of the ‘City Boys Movement’ in the South-East only, wondering why there were not in other parts of the country.

LEADERSHIP reports that the City Boys Movement is pro-Tinubu youth group within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) being spearheaded by the President’s son, Seyi Tinubu.

Obi made the remarks in a video that surfaced online on Tuesday, where he was seen addressing a group of supporters in the Igbo language.

“Have you ever heard of City boys in Hausa land, or in Yoruba land?” he asked.

“Are we the only ones that have boys?”

Though brief, the statement has been widely interpreted as a direct taunting of the prominent South-Easterner members of the ‘City Boys’ Movement, including businessman and socialites Obinna Iyiegbu, a.k.a. Obi Cubana, and Pascal Okechukwu, widely known as Cubana Chief Priest, among others.

In recent months, the movement has expanded through a developing structure of state and regional coordinators across the country, including Obi Cubana, who has been linked with coordination roles in the South-East mobilisation network, and Cubana Chief Priest, who has also been publicly associated with the movement’s visibility and outreach efforts in the South-East.
