The non-voting category recognised the male artist with the most outstanding vocal performance on a single song or album during the year under review.

Lojay triumphed over a competitive field of nominees, including Omah Lay’s “Moving”, Johnny Drille’s “For You”, Timi Dakolo’s “Ke Na Ke So”, and Anendlessocean’s “Gratitude”.

In his acceptance speech, Lojay expressed gratitude and emphasised the importance of industry structure, stating, “Thank God Headies is back to base. I think this is something that we need to focus on as artists, just to bring back as much structure as possible to our industry, and this is like the first step in the right direction.”

The Headies Awards, known for celebrating excellence in the Nigerian music industry, returned to Nigeria this year after two editions in Atlanta, Georgia.

LEADERSHIP reports that the 2025 ceremony featured 31 categories, including ‘Artiste of the Year,’ ‘Song of the Year,’ and ‘Next Rated,’ highlighting the diversity and talent within the industry.
