Ekiti State chapter of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA) has felicitated Muslims for witnessing the Islamic New Year 1446 A.H.

The president of the council in the state, Alhaji Hameed Bakare, in his new Islamic year message to the Muslim ummah in Ekiti charged them to be shining lights and good ambassadors of the Islam in whatever place or position they  may find themselves.

Bakare while addressing the Imams, leaders and representatives of Muslims from across the state in Iropora Ekiti, he  urged all Muslims  in the state to take more active parts in grassroots politics in order to have more Muslims in key elective and appointive positions to contribute their quota to the development of the State.

The council commended the Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji-led  government for its improved performance in extending the dividends of democracy to Muslim faithful in the state at the recently celebrated Eidel Adha.

Bakare, who used the occasion to express delight on the Sallah gifts from the state government to Imams and other Muslim leaders at the last Eidel Adha festival was better than before, also urged the Government to do more as there are more rooms for improvement.
