Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa has lauded the developmental achievements of Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, describing his administration as transformative across key sectors of the state’s economy.
Jibrin, who was recently affirmed as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for a fifth term in the House of Representatives, made the remarks during a well-attended political gathering in Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency.
Addressing supporters, the lawmaker commended Governor Yusuf’s performance, particularly in the education sector, where he noted that the declaration of a state of emergency had led to the recruitment and training of over 10,000 teachers, as well as the renovation of schools and provision of critical learning facilities.
He also highlighted strides in the health sector, citing the rehabilitation of primary, secondary and tertiary health institutions, alongside the recruitment of doctors, nurses and other frontline personnel. Jibrin added that the administration’s free maternal and child healthcare programme and expanded health insurance coverage for vulnerable groups had improved access to medical services.
On agriculture, the federal lawmaker said the Yusuf administration had boosted productivity through irrigation projects, dam desilting and the provision of subsidised fertiliser to farmers.
He further pointed to ongoing infrastructural projects, including the construction of over 100 urban roads, mega flyovers at Dan’agundi and Tal’udu, as well as the rehabilitation of rural roads and water treatment facilities.
Jibrin also commended efforts at youth empowerment and human capital development, noting the reopening of skill acquisition centres and targeted programmes for women and youths.
He urged APC members in the state to remain united, stressing that collective support would be crucial in sustaining development and achieving future political goals.
Jibrin reaffirmed his commitment to effective representation and thanked constituents for their continued support.
