Hope may have risen for multi-billion naira International Glass Industries Limited, Aba after lying moribund for years.

This followed assurance by the Abia State commissioner for trade, commerce and industry, Chimezie Ukaegbu, yesterday, after a tour of the complex.

He said the present administration in the state had put machinery in place which includes reviving of moribund industries and factories to boost the economy of the state.

“This administration, headed by Governor Alex Otti, has pledged to do everything necessary to ensure that this complex and similarly others are put back on track,” he noted.

“The visit is for me to have first hand information of your challenges and inline with Otti’s interest in restoring Aba as the industrial hub of the state and the country at large.”

Earlier, the general manager of the industries Kelechi Onuiri had told Ukaegbu that the management had been maintaining the complex while hoping for possible recommencement of operations.
