The federal government has attributed the progress recorded in the ongoing transformation of the Federal Civil Service to God’s faithfulness, reaffirming its commitment to building a more efficient, innovative and citizen-centred public service.

The head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack, made the declaration during the Annual Thanksgiving Service marking the conclusion of the 2026 Federal Civil Service Week at the Family Worship Centre in Abuja.

The service brought together federal civil servants, their families, and well-wishers to express gratitude to God for His guidance, protection, and the achievements recorded in the public service over the past year.

Addressing the congregation, Walson-Jack described the annual thanksgiving as an opportunity to acknowledge God’s faithfulness in sustaining the Federal Civil Service through another year of reforms and dedicated service to the nation.

She recalled that a similar service was held in June last year and noted that the journey since then had been marked by God’s grace, which made every milestone, every challenge overcome and every success achieved possible.

According to her, the gathering was a collective expression of gratitude for God’s mercy, unfailing guidance and continued blessings upon the Federal Civil Service.

The head of the Civil Service also commended Christians across the country for their unwavering prayers for Nigeria, its leaders and the public service, describing their intercession as a source of strength and encouragement in advancing reforms aimed at improving service delivery to citizens.

She equally expressed appreciation to the leadership and members of the Family Worship Centre, particularly the Senior Pastor, Pastor Sarah, and other ministers of the church, for their consistent prayers, fellowship and support.

Walson-Jack said the encouragement received from the church had strengthened the resolve of the Federal Civil Service to uphold its core values of integrity, excellence, accountability and selfless service.

Reflecting on the achievements recorded over the past year, she committed the future of the Federal Civil Service into God’s hands, praying for greater wisdom, unity and strength to sustain the ongoing reform agenda.

She reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to building a civil service that is efficient, innovative, citizen-centred and deserving of the confidence reposed in it by Nigerians.

The Thanksgiving service featured prayers, worship, and songs of praise as civil servants collectively gave thanks to God for His faithfulness and committed the nation’s public service and leadership to His continued guidance.
