An advocacy group, Hundred Percent Focus For Nigeria, has said the House of Representatives will not be a rubber stamp legislative under the leadership of Dr Tajudeen Abass.

Head of the group, Dr Mohammed Ibrahim, who spoke with reporters in Abuja argued that Abass has the wherewithal to oversee the affairs of the lower legislative chamber of elected into office.

“He has been in the House for the past 12 years. He is a simple and gentle man. He is a teacher and an intellectual and we know for sure that he won’t dance to the tune of the executive arm if what they want him to do would not serve the best interest of Nigerians, ” he said.

He added: “We believe that Hon. Tajudeen is the most suitable candidate for the position based on his profile, excellent track records, work experiences, academic qualifications, contributions at the National Assembly, bills presented and passed for implementation, support to the party, and loyalty to leadership Millions of Nigerians have also spoken about this based on a popular choice.

“Our APC leaders and Mr. President Bola Tinubu have given direction in this matter, and we urge the elected members of the new assembly, party loyalists, and supporters to endorse and buy into the APC leadership direction for the party to move on without delay.

“This will enable lawmakers to provide the much-needed quality policies and oversight function in an innovative way.
