Popular media personality and reality star, Leo DaSilva, has opened up about surviving two separate attempts on his life through food poisoning, including a harrowing encounter as a seven-year-old child.
DaSilva, who has become a prominent voice on social advocacy and public safety, took to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle to recount the traumatic experiences. According to the entrepreneur, the first incident involved a meal of Egusi soup served with pomo and soft meat. He noted a chilling detail: the woman who served the meal ensured her own children did not partake in the food.
“I have been poisoned twice in my life. The first time was with Egusi soup with Pomo and soft meat. The second time was with Jollof rice and turkey. The Egusi lady was the only one who came close to succeeding. I had stomach pain, but I kept eating. Yeah, I was 7 then,” DaSilva stated.
He said the second attempt on his life reportedly occurred in 2012, when he was 20 years old, involving a meal of Jollof rice and turkey.
This revelation follows DaSilva’s recent calls for the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) to intensify its crackdown on counterfeit drugs and substandard household products in Abuja.
